YAAR?! The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning you NOT to eat mussels harvested by Island Sea Farms between July 19 and August 2nd because they may contain Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning biotoxin. The mussels were sold under the brand names Saltspring Island Mussels, Albion Fisheries Ltd., Pacific Rim Shellfish Corp. and B & C Food. So far, 40 people in B.C. have reported getting sick after eating them…and here’s the sneaky part…they might not actually look or smell spoiled, but eating them can cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and chills.  Watch for symptoms setting in within about a half an hour after eating and only lasting about a day without treatment.  NOT a good way to attempt a cleanse on your summer vacation this year!!!
